"Oakley" The WUEF Puppy
This darling registered Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy was named after the San Benancio Middle School Mascot, The Oak Tree. Oakley will be 13 weeks old when Spring Fling 2011 starts. A Salinas native, Oakley's parents are Quail Ridge's Cry Me a River and Tobin Sioux's Kido Safari Girl. With long names like that in the family, we think "Oakley" is a perfect name for our WUEF Dog.

Oakley is a very mild puppy that is happy around children. The Chesapeake is a happy and intelligent breed whose courage, working ability and love of water mesh best with active, outdoor-loving families. Oakley, an AKC registered puppy may look cute and small right now but he is going to be a big boy. He has been seen by the veterinarians at the Toro Park Veterinary Hospital, who have generously donated Well Puppy Visits, two bags of food, as well as a basket full of toys and puppy essentials.

Oakley knows his name, "sit" and how to walk nicely on a leash. He sits before his food is given and has learned not to jump on people. He is making progress on "come" and "down" and is working on crate training and potty training. Puppy classes are strongly recommended for this breed since most grow to be large dogs and need to have manners with both dogs and people. So, four one-on-one personal training sessions have been arranged by The Family Dog Trainer where you and Holly Uchida can get him accustomed to his new environment.

WUEF wants to thank the families of the 7th & 8th Grade classes at San Benancio Middle School for sponsoring Oakley and all the puppy supplies that will go home with him and his new happy family.
